Meet Your Therapist
Amy Johnson, MSW, LCSW

I know firsthand what it’s like to feel like you’re doing everything “right” on the outside while battling self-doubt, overwhelm, or exhaustion on the inside.

I received my own late neurodivergent diagnosis, and with it came a lifetime of rethinking: the times I pushed myself too hard to keep up, the moments I masked who I was to be accepted, and the years I quietly carried anxiety that no one else seemed to see. These experiences are what fuel my passion for supporting women who feel like they’ve been living life on fast-forward, disconnected from their own needs.

Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you, because you were never broken. Instead, it’s about creating a safe, collaborative space where you can finally exhale. Together, we’ll slow things down so you can reconnect with your body, release the burdens you’ve been carrying, and practice showing up as your authentic self without apology. My style is warm, nonjudgmental, and rooted in compassion, because I believe healing begins when you feel truly seen and understood.

Over the past 11 years, I’ve worked with individuals, families, teens, and children across diverse communities in Hawaii, Arizona, Colorado, and the Tri-State area. I’m also a certified Brainspotting therapist, and I integrate evidence-based, body-centered, and relational approaches to meet each client’s unique needs. Many of my clients are high-achieving, creative, and deeply sensitive women navigating burnout, trauma, or a new diagnosis. They often come to me after years of “pushing through,” ready to stop surviving and start living more fully.

Approach + Modalities

My Approach & Modalities

I don’t believe you’re broken...you’ve always been whole.

My role is to offer the right support and blend of approaches, from Brainspotting to somatic and mindfulness work, so we can uncover what’s been buried beneath years of survival and self-doubt.

Together, we’ll create a space where you feel safe enough to release old burdens and step fully into your authentic self using the following modalities:

Brainspotting

For moments when you feel stuck in old patterns, triggered by experiences you can’t fully explain, or weighed down by trauma you thought you’d moved past. Brainspotting helps access and release the deep emotional pain stored in your body so you can move forward without the same weight holding you back. It’s especially powerful for clients who feel like they’ve “talked it all out” but still don’t feel relief. Learn more about Brainspotting HERE

Somatic Experiencing & Polyvagal-Informed Skills

When your body feels constantly on edge, your heart races, or you feel shut down and disconnected, somatic work helps you find calm again. These skills gently retrain your nervous system to recognize safety, making it easier to relax into your relationships, your work, and your own life. Clients often notice they breathe easier, sleep better, and feel more grounded after practicing these tools.

At the heart of all of these modalities is one simple goal: helping you feel more at home in your body and more confident in your life.

If you’re ready to let go of the constant pressure, stop masking, and discover who you are underneath all the layers, I would love to walk alongside you in this journey.
