Therapist Amy Rae Johnson, LCSW
I’m a therapist who believes healing happens when the mind and body are integrated. My work is grounded in lived experience, clinical training, and a deep respect for how hard people work to survive adversity.
I’ve used therapy, especially somatic therapy, in my own healing. I know what it’s like to understand patterns intellectually while your body still feels on edge. I also know change is possible when we get curious and slow things down.
My style is warm, collaborative, and real. I am not a blank slate or a distant observer. I believe the therapy relationship matters, and I show up as myself in sessions. Therapy with me is not about fixing you. You were never broken. It’s about helping you feel safe enough to be fully yourself.
Who I Work With
I work with adults who are thoughtful, capable, and often exhausted from pushing through. Many of my clients are high achievers, creatives, or deeply sensitive people who have spent years surviving instead of living.
Availability: I see clients via Telehealth across New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
A Little More About Me
I have over 12 years of experience working with individuals, families, teens, and children across diverse communities in Hawaii, Arizona, Colorado, and the Tri-State area.
Outside of therapy, I love being in nature, engaging in art projects, and travelling to new places. I am often beachcombing for seaglass, and enjoying coastlines around the world, most recently in Croatia and Greece. One of my favorite ethnic dishes is pad thai, and popping boba tea is one of my simple joys. I’m an animal lover and have two cats, Raven and Roonie.
I’m a certified Brainspotting therapist and integrate evidence-based, somatic, and relational approaches to meet each client’s unique needs.
